Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
As we read through the book of Romans, we find a natural division between chapter 11 and 12. Chapter 11 finishes by saying that God has mercy upon all, that the wisdom and knowledge of God is so rich in depth and that his ways are so past finding out, that He should receive all things and all glory. Chapter 12 begins to explain how we might accomplish that goal. We must be living sacrifices. We must be faithful with whatever gifts God gives us. And, we must be obedient to the list of commands between vs. 9 and 21 that I believe help us both
1. give God His due glory and
2. present ourselves as a living sacrifice.
Over the next several weeks in our bulletin, I will attempt to address each of these commands. It is my desire, as pastor of LBBC, to exalt our Savior by encouraging the Saints to walk closer to Him, I look forward to reading the Book, giving the sense, and causing to understand. I pray that these articles will accomplish these goals.
