Ephesians 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
In this passage, the apostle Paul makes it clear that he is a recipient of the grace of God. The grace of God that gives him (and all who are partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel) the unsearchable riches of Christ. As a recipient of this grace, he was bound (he said “a prisoner”) to tell others of the gift that he had received. He said that he was made a minister. A minister is one who administers what he is a steward of. In this case, he was administering the gift of Christ’s great riches.
During this time of the year, we begin to think about administering (or giving) gifts to those around us. The greatest gift of all is the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Take time this Christmas season to be a minister of the gospel. Give the gift of eternal life.
